Transition from Employees to Patients: A Testament to Our Success

Last year, I started a series entitled "Transition from Employees to Patients: A Testament to Our Success," which features employees who have had minimally invasive spine surgery at Laser Spine Institute. This is important to me because the fact that our employees choose Laser Spine Institute for their spine care services demonstrates their confidence in our procedures, dedication to patient care, and safety. In my opinion, this is a true measure of success.
Today's post features Melynn Collins, Patient Coordinator at Laser Spine Institute.

My name is Melynn Collins and I have been a Patient Coordinator at Laser Spine Institute Tampa, since January 2008. I had neck surgery on Thursday, April 29 with Dr. St. Louis. I had been in pain for over ten years and can’t believe how amazing I feel. Everyone was so helpful and encouraging along the way. When I awoke in recovery, Vicki Bowers, my nurse, was all smiles and telling me how great I did. I’ve worked here for over two years and I have no idea why I waited so long to have this done. It’s truly a blessing!

My neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain and weakness are gone. I felt 100% better when I woke up in recovery. My right arm felt ten pounds lighter and the only symptom I had was some soreness around the incision. It’s a strange feeling not having this pain that I accepted as part of my life. I look forward to sharing my story, and encouraging people going through the same thing to make the decision to change their life here at Laser Spine Institute! Each day I feel better and look forward to a new life without pain!
