Laser Spine Institute Patient Linda Ross Explains How She Regained an Active Lifestyle
Linda Ross, a yoga enthusiast and instructor, led a healthy lifestyle from her earliest days. An avid athlete her entire life, she enjoyed exercise, aerobics, fitness instruction, and competitive sports such as figure skating. This amount of physical activity required Linda to have a strong core and a healthy spine, and she always stayed in top physical condition. However, that wasn't enough to prevent the onset of degenerative disc disease and chronic back pain.
Over the years, Linda began experiencing increasingly severe pain in her lower back, hips, legs, and feet due to a number of degenerative spine conditions, including spinal arthritis, degenerative disc disease, foraminal stenosis, bulging/herniated discs, spondylolisthesis, and radiculopathy. At first, she tried a number of conservative treatment methods, such as massage, physical therapy, icing, heat, pain medication, exercise, and stretching. Finding little relief from these methods, Linda even considered open back surgery before discovering Laser Spine Institute.
Kate Gookin: A Closer Look
Our guest appearance on The Doctors provided a glimpse into Kate's struggle with chronic pain, and the subsequent relief she experienced after having surgery at Laser Spine Institute Scottsdale. The article below was published in this month's issue of our newsletter, the Spinal Column, and provides a detailed account of Kate's experience.
Laser Spine Institute Celebrates 5th Anniversary
On March 14, 2005, Laser Spine Institute opened for business with just three physicians and nine employees. Working in a 2,500-square-foot space, the small team averaged about 15 procedures per month. Five years later, Laser Spine Institute has grown into the leader in minimally invasive spine procedures. In fact, no surgical provider in the world can match the 400 spine procedures that Laser Spine Institute performs on average each month.
Laser Spine Institute: Streamlining the Spine Surgery Process - Consistently Catering to Patient Needs
How many times have you read about Laser Spine Institute's signature 5 day process? If you have been reading my blog, visiting our website, or receiving our newsletter, I can guess your answer - a lot! So, what is the five day process and how did it come into being?
The five day process came out of our commitment to consistently cater to patients' needs. We realize the importance for patients returning to their normal lives in a timely manner, as well as the physical and mental strain that often accompanies preparation for a surgical process. As a result, we streamlined the entire process, making it possible to complete everything from pre-op to physical therapy in as little as five days!
Laser Spine Institute: Ideally Located, Comprehensive Spine Care Oasis
In addition to our expert medical team, state of the art, comprehensive spine care facilities, unparalleled patient service, and signature five day process, one of the reasons that over 70% of patients are willing to travel to Laser Spine Institute is the ideal location of our facilities. With surgery centers in Tampa, Florida and Scottsdale, Arizona, and a consultation center in San Diego, California, patients often take the opportunity to incorporate a vacation after their five day experience.
