Laser Spine Surgery

I’m pleased to announce that Laser Spine Institute will appear on the nationally syndicated program The Doctors from Stage 29 and CBS Distribution on May 19th. The segment will feature former Laser Spine Institute patient, Kate Gookin’s incredible journey with innovative, minimally invasive spine surgery, along with Chairman of Surgery and founder Dr. James St. Louis, who performed the outpatient procedure just two-and-a-half weeks before the show.

I would like to congratulate Dr. Vernon Morris, Laser Spine Institute Philadelphia’s spine surgeon for passing the 2,000 surgery mark at Laser Spine Institute on April 26, 2010. Dr. Morris joined Laser Spine Institute in 2007 with 33 years of surgical experience, 17 years of which he spent performing minimally invasive spine surgery.  After serving as a senior member of our surgical team in Tampa for two years, Dr. Morris returned to his native state, Pennsylvania to lead our new state-of-the-art facility.

Prospective patients often ask if our procedures are experimental, while past patients express concern that insurance companies attempt to avoid paying for procedures by stating that they are experimental. As such, I thought it would be a good idea to address this question and provide information for persons who are considering any medical procedure.

On Tuesday, September 1st, Dr. Michael Weiss, Chief Spine Surgeon at Laser Spine Institute Scottsdale, completed the 1,000th surgery. No other spine surgery center in world has completed 1,000 minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgeries in less than 8 months, and more importantly, with an 88% success rate and a 91% patient satisfaction rate. In addition, 99% of the patients surveyed reported that they would recommend LSI to a family or friend.
